Over the weekend Australia lost one of its key advocates for Music Education, Richard Gill. I had the privileged of meeting him while I was still was at University, an experience I wish I had made more of at the time and in the future.
Richard Gill’s advocacy for Music was unrelenting and simply that all students have access to Music Education to teach the whole child rather than producing unimaginative robots.
He will be missed in many spheres but the generation of Music Educators he has influenced will continue his work.
